Our Story
Before the pandemic, we came from a long line of entrepreneurs — a five- and six-generation business family. Carrying that legacy forward, El Coquí was born in 2020 during the height of the pandemic as a food truck, bringing authentic Puerto Rican flavors to Southern Maryland.
This is more than just a business it's a father and daughter dream, supported by the entire family.
Since we opened our food truck, El Coquí has been growing into a Puerto Rican destination a place where people from all backgrounds gather to experience the warmth, flavor, and culture of the island.
Today, that dream continues to grow as we proudly open the doors to our first sit-down restaurant, where tradition, love, and Puerto Rican pride are served on every plate.
